Barcelona Beaches

Barcelona's urban beaches are one of its most attractive features if you want to relax in the open air or enjoy the sea.

Barcelona's beaches are very safe, with the sea usually calm, and a temperature that means you can take a dip from spring to autumn. The beaches stretch from the fishermen's neighbourhood of Barceloneta, next to Port Vell (the city's old port), all along to the exciting Forum zone, at the northernmost point of the city's coastline. Depending on which part of the city you are staying in, you can choose one of the following beaches, all of them accessible for people with disabilities and reachable by bike or public transport.

  1. At the traditional fishermen's neighbourhood of Barceloneta

  2. Vila Olímpica coastline

  3. In the Poblenou neighbourhood

  4. Forum Zone

In this newly designed area of the Barcelona coastline, near the hotel zone on Diagonal Mar, you will find an area especially reserved for bathing, clearly marked out, with a shallow area for children and accessible for people with disabilities, like all the city's beaches. This bathing area has showers, changing facilities and lockers to store personal items while you are there. We recommend you wear sandals or flip-flops, although it is not compulsory. All the activities in bathing area are free.
